The dollmaker’s derision is a short story (almost 2000 words) about a doll’s journey to the old workshop of the man who made her long ago. During her journey, she talks about her past and her upbringing. When she arrives, she confronts her maker in a dramatic end to the story. It is a fantastical tale containing themes of mental health, existential dread and a little bit of magic.
